Unfortunately it looks like the decals have disappeared into the global 'black hole' that is international postage these days, but no matter, I am busy hammering pieces of plastic together in the meantime.

Have a great weekend everyone, best from a chilly NZ.

    Update without pics:
Before work today was able to get the primer coat down (Mr Surfacer 1500), and got an update from NZ Post... my decals are 'in-country' so will be with me here in a day or two (fist pump).

Another update later in the week, but with visuals. Cheers all.

Pre shading and finishing the RLM76 areas:

On top of the dark grey primer coat, I used Uschi splatter mask stencils to spray random blotches of white, then a medium blue/grey, then blended that with a very thin mist coat of the main colour. After that I outlined all the panels with a very dark grey.

Final coat isn't actually RLM 76, but Mr Colors' RAF Barley Grey (the overall colour of the British Eurofighter Typhoon). I carefully sprayed each individual panel with two light coats then one overall final coat to blend it all together.

Please feel free to make any comments or ask any questions. More at the weekend, stay tuned.

That's a very interesting paint technique - it gives a good result.

    Main paint done:

Not going to lie - I love the finish, not sure I could've wished for better. Obviously taking a break for a coupla days was a good thing. Next will be some limited mottling.

Have a great weekend all, best from Middle Earth.
