This will be my entry to honor Jim: the Hasegawa 1/48 -3 Hellcat, aboard USS Essex. It is the initial 1995 (or so) release.

Thanks my friend @johnb! This kit is almost 30 years old and does not look out of place today! Bravo Hasegawa!

    A great start, @fiveten

One cannot go wrong with a Hellcat and Hasegawa. I'll be very interested to follow your progress.

I have built quite a few of these Hasegawa Hellcats. They are a great building plane. They have good details and are not too fussy to assemble. Recently I picked up some of the newer Eduard F6F-3's and later dash 5's. I have a few more of the Hasegawa kits left in the stash, and I hope to build them before I attempt one of the Eduard kits.

I will definitely be looking for the next installment.

Thanks for joining the Jim Sullivan group, and for the continued support here on Imodeler. You are a true friend.

Take care, and please tell QC!1 and QC2 not to go too hard on this latest Hellcat on their maiden test flights with it. Remember to talk to them about VNE !

Although these real life 'Cats were pretty tough.

Thanks as always, my friend @lgardner! The Hasegawa Hellcat van still hold its own today and that says a lot for an almost 30 years old mold. It builds nicely so far.

QC1&2 are currently in Vne testing phase of some of my simpler, older builds, so, hopefully, the Hellcat will make it to the finish line before Vne testing ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks so much for your continuing support here in iModeler: you are also a true friend.

    Looking forward to your Hellcats!

Another Cat for Jim! Looking forward to seeing this one straight through to the finish. Youโ€™re going all out with that engine, Spiros @fiveten.
