Decals always make the subject come "alive". Looks great, Spiros! Keep her going.

The decals definitely are bringing this one to life. I see you are building a Hellcat from VF-16. I actually met the man who was assigned to this very same airplane once. I ended up building a model as a tribute to him. His name was Arthur Payne Whiteway. He flew Hellcats from the USS Lexington, and knew Alex Vraciu very well. He was also credited with two A6M's.

Previously I posted this on Eric's Hasegawa F6F too.

Looking good, Spiros @fiveten. Looks like we're both doing Whiteway's plane!

    Thanks my friend @lgardner!

You did a wonderful job on your Corsair, way better than my attempt here. I didn't know this was Payne's plane, looks like my research was not toi effective 🙂

Your article and build thread are, as usual, SUPERB!

I just used the kit decals with the red border, likely they would have been correct for this bird's earlier days. My decals white sections are too "ivory", so I will see how to match it with my underside white (some weathering maybe...).

You have written a wonderful article and your build thread was equally super! I will use both as reference from now on!

Thanks buddy for the compliments on my F6F. Payne was assigned to this plane on paper, but he flew whatever was available. You are getting close to wrapping this one up. Looks great too !
