Impressive to have such an aircraft just beside the road, John @j-healy
The best reference you can get.

I just did a little more research and realized those light gray tires in front of the plane are for the SR-71/A-12. The rubber is infused with aluminum and the tires feature holes to diffuse heat. The park has an A-12 on display.

Wow! An A-12, my friend @j-healy! That must look absolutely impressive!

The Panther is ready for silver paint. I’m going to give it a base coat of Tamiya lacquer, mask panels and panel lines then give it a coat of lighter AK Extreme enamel silver.

I painted the nose cone camouflage gray. It seems a good match for the unpainted fiberglass on the real thing. Tamiya tape for curves is your friend for areas like this. I also gave it a blast of rattle can Tamiya gloss aluminum to check seams and such.

Nice gray shade, looks realistic, my friend @j-healy. An aluminium coat always reveals any surface imperfections.

    Nicely done, John @j-healy
The Tamiya tape definitely did the trick.

Two hours of masking for 7 minutes of painting! I’m pleased how this turned out. AK Extreme Metal enamel over Tamiya LP silver. Anti-glare panel, decals and final assembly next.

Very nice paint result, John @j-healy
Sometimes the ratio masking/painting is indeed skewed.

A little more progress today. I fashioned the view finder from the clear support strut included with the kit.
