    Thanks George @gblair!

Yes, this is the Vautour by the Gooney, its progress delayed a bit due to other more "compulsory" priorities. Still, some undocumented small progress has been made, to be documented here. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to prioritise it a bit now, as its "multimedia" character will part very nicely with your Maryland...welll, just a motivation thought...

Oh and I'll keep an eye on that edge! Indeed, the Gooney wheel is alarmingly close!

Thanks Allan @kalamazoo! Indeed, the C-47 cries for some wheel flattening!

    Spiros, @fiveten
My friend, it has been a while since I have last commented on your C-47. It has definitely progressed since my last visit, and it's looking very good. By the look of things, you might have it wrapped up soon. Now you are in the last 10 percent of building, which takes up 90 percent of your time... 🙂

    Thanks, my friend Lewis @lgardner!

Indeed it looks like it will be wrapped up soon!

I have left it beside a bit for a week or so (as well my otherwise beloved Ki-45), in favor mainly of the 1/32 "Gulf War" Tornado that had been left behind before, but for other projects too. In fact, with so many absolutely amazing GBs currently running, you cannot stop moving in excitement from one project to another, some work here, some there.

Oh! And this absolutely yummy "Scandinavian Draken", courtesy of my friend Erik @airbum, introduced in the WiP section, is talking to me every evening! I still cannot figure out how I have persisted so far not cutting those lovely sprues!

I was "afraid" of multiple builds, now I can say I am into multiple builds magic.

Motivation is never lost; rather, is kept constantly very high!

I think the C-47 will progress very soon!

    Cheers!

    And a small update:

    Glued the exhausts in place.

A number of C-47s, like my one, sport some narrow tubes that protrude from the exhaust root to the front. I replicated those with appropriately bent stretched sprue.

I installed the unique looking undernose pitots and the antenna mast.

I also painted the black (awaiting silver drybrushing) the inlet and outlet faces of the oil coolers.

My friend Lewis @lgardner quoted above:

Now you are in the last 10 percent of building, which takes up 90 percent of your time………….

Well, as per the pic below, this is:

    LOL!

    Cheers!

Looks great, Spiros (@fiveten). You are certainly correct about the time management of the kit. But on some kits, it seems like you spend 90% of your time on the interior, and then the rest of the build goes quickly once you glue the two halves of the fuselage together. In any case, you are nearing the end of a really nice build.

All the fiddly details now, looking good Spiros, what is that record, Marty Robins ?

Thanks George @gblair! You are so right about the interior spent time on some kits (do I hear a beautifully built Maryland calling?).

Thanks Allan @kalamazoo! It is Michael Holliday!

Next step will be some weathering at the C-47; I will refrain from installing the three roof (!) antenna wires (and the corresponding masts), only to install them at the very end; this way there will be some chances those wires will survive...

BTW - it is very interesting to see the many small or not so small variations between C-47s: antennas (both type and position) and engine air scoops are the first popping up.

One more reason why I love modeling...

Beautiful Spiros, yes I totally agree when multiple projects are going on. First thing in the morning jump on any painting or decal work listening to classic rock and sipping my morning coffee. Work on a project, maybe do a couple of steps, then move on to the next one. PE work, decals, some in different stages of assembly. And just when you think your almost done after demasking all the clear parts, at least for me, the paint , decals and any kind of weathering is completed. Then time for the detail bits and pieces, lamps, paint Id lights, any guns and ordnance to hang and of course the last is any of the antennas. And nasty at times the gear bay doors. Love it! Your C-47 is outstanding.

Thanks Chuck @uscusn! Classic rock, morning coffee and modeling? How better can it get than this?
