I was completely unaware that Hasegawa had done Jim Thompson's famous-for-being-famous F-86 "The Huff" as one of their limited releases. I don't know when they did this, but when I found the kit in the Estate Sale shelves at the LHS for only $30, there was no way I wasn't picking it up.

Hasegawa did their research for this. The dragon decal has the right colors according to a contemporary color shot I have of the airplane, and they also got the fact the 51st FIW checkerboard was done "rough" with ragged edges on the checkers. Also the flashes on the drop tanks.

I'm building this concurrently with "Darling Dottie."

The scheme is amazing, looking forward to see it finished like that.

Here's the model assembled. With care in assembly, this kit assembles without need of putty. This will have the canopy open. Ready for paint this weekend.

    Great progress, Tom @tcinla
Having it displayed with the canopy open makes it look a bit more dynamic.
