Excellent approach and ditto result, my friend @gwskat! Such mismatches are nasty, but you tackled it supremely 👍👍

    Hey Gary.
Sorry for not responding sooner on this build. I know it’s been a while…. The B-25 has been taking over my limited build time. I’m happy to have it done and even more so now that I have made the deadline.

Thank you for leaving a great comment too.

I’m very impressed with how the cockpit looks. The additional parts are a big improvement.

The trouble with the lower engine cover was handled with an excellent result. By the looks of things you should be spraying some paint on soon.

Keep it going. Rock on !

    Thanks All.
I am happy with the way the fix turned out and it wasn't that difficult. Win, Win!

Though Airfix soft plastic can be a pro, in ones favor, for assembly, when it comes to sanding I find the soft plastic to be a con...you can sand away the plastic quickly if not careful.

Puttied the seams with Bondo glazing putty.
Followed with sanding, using various grits until smooth.
I check seams by painting on Vallejo black primer.
    Added more putty where needed.

    Adding the intakes and tail-feathers.

Added a styrene shim to align with rear intake part.

    Great work done, Gary @gwskat
Now it is clear what you used to fill those seams. Thanks for explaining your approach.

    Thanks Guys.

John I should have read this before replying over on the Spit build.

    Felix...don't look too close. LOL

Seriously...No real secrets...I mainly use Bondo glazing putty, followed with varying grits of sanding... Quick check with black primer and re-apply putty in areas that need more work.

Other things to help; use a glue like Tamiya that will soften the plastic to "weld" the plastic, with hopefully a bit of ooze seeping out to fill the gaps.

One thing I do try, but doesn't always work out, is to make sure the seams are glued together with minimum amount of misalignment. This also minimizes fixing.

Looking good, Gary (@gwskat). That last bit of advice is something I always try to do, but I am amazed at how many times things seem to shift no matter how much tape or how many clamps I use. Looking forward to the rest of the build.

Excellent progress, my friend @gwskat! Yup, no real secrets in treating gaps: it always comes to fill, sand, repeat 😀
    Looking excellent so far!
