About this Group
I want to dedicate this group to planes and schemes from the early stages of the war. It was a period of great changes in technology and i believe it deserves more attention.
I have long had a soft spot for british planes from the 1930ies / early 1940ies. I love their looks and i mostly like the camouflage schemes with the black & white underbellies. But french and belgium liveries for instance are also very interesting and somewhat underrepresented. I personally look forward to building lots of Wellingtons, Blenheims or Lysanders.

Nice work done, George @gblair The wingtip light replacement is done beautifully. Also the way you kept the landing gear struts leveled is a nice trick. Like said by Spiros @fiveten, I think you are free to […]

Looking forward to the codes, my friend @yellow10!

Go for "Juliette" by hand, my friend @michaelt! You will attain an excellent result!

Excellent progress, my friend @gblair! Landing gear looks excellent. I had read that French camos back then were not standardized, so no plane had the same camo. It all depended on the painter's mood. So, choose […]

I am glad to report that I am ready to start painting tomorrow. I got the last pieces glued on, with the exception of easily broken things like the antenna mast. The wingtip position lights are tiny pieces of […]

Thanks my friend @johnb!

The weathering looks really good, Spiros @fiveten Just a few steps.

Some very interesting documentation, Michael @michaelt Pretty sure you can trust yourself to paint this by hand.
-
Thank you kindly, my friends @gblair and @stephen-w-towle!

Spitfires are like ice cream and cake. Always a treat . Spiros (@fiveten) another classic build of a classic.

Hi, Michael (@michaelt): There are a bunch of really nice paint schemes to do, and seemingly all have a different camo pattern. I think the crew chiefs may have painted them after a night in the club. I have a […]

Almost done, Spiros (@fiveten). Weathering looks good.

Hi, Spiros (@fiveten), John (@johnb), Felix (@fxrob), and Gary (@gwskat): The photos of the Finnish aircraft had a wealth of detail on the planes. I don't think I want to try to incorporate all of the detail in […]

Weathering done, onto final coat...

I've been doing a bit of research on Cne Robert Williame who's aircraft I'm planning on building. First point of call is the Osprey Aircraft of the Aces 121 "Morane-Saulnier MS.406 Aces". This has two of […]

All looking good, George. Looking forward to watching the paint go on. Good luck!

Thanks, again, All. Though painting markings can be a lot of work, for me,...mainly the placement of and masking off...the reward is worth it, like with this build and the Hurri. I was a bit worried I didn't […]

Thanks, @gblair @fiveten @johnb @fxrob George, yeah, I usually try to build similar subjects, or with similar "colors", simultaneously. I find it more economical in regards to paint, it keeps my research, and […]

Fantastisc paintjob, Paul @yellow10! Love the different hues of green. Looks very, very good.

Dear George @gblair I am indeed on the island of Syros, in Greece! It’s windy and rainy but who cares. If it wasn’t for that, i could have gone to the air force museum in Zurich to take a few pictures for you of […]
