Intake pipes mounted onto their connection plate (the carburettors will be attached at the opposite sides)...

Indeed, those were the days, my friend @chinesegeorge! Together with the usual discussions about "specialists" tuning carburettors with the ear. Have tried setting them up by ear at my twin cylinder Kawasaki, usually it was a "fail" 🙂

Are the air inlets made of solid plastic or a rubber like material. From the pictures it looks like the latter to me.
