@chinesegeorge, thank you, George. The next challenge will be red.
@fiveten, thanks a lot, Spiros. Maybe I should clean the bench more often 😉

I lost track of your build, John (@johnb) and missed all of the cool work on the paint. Despite the uncooperative paint and masks, it all came out looking great. Not much left to do.

@gblair, thanks a lot, George. Slowly getting there.

This is how the Honda looks after the exhaust underneath the seat was mounted and the entire part, fuel tank and seat part mounted on the frame with two single screws.

On the white element you see in the previous picture, there is one single decal that should create the black striping.I'm in doubt if all this can be done with one decal without getting myself into troubles. Of course the decal can be cut into separate parts, but still there are lots of curves to follow. I might go for painting them, not easy with masking but maybe a better approach than the decal. The seat element which is mounted can still be taken of easily, the two single screws mentioned above.

All other parts are masked to receive the red color.

I’d be tempted to give the decal a try, @johnb. I just had a look at my model and they seem to be fine, I don’t recall having any difficulty with them either. If you use the kit decals then all the black stripes will be the same shade of black.

I would also be tempted to try the decals first, John (@johnb). Put them on and use a strong setting solution. If they don't work, it will be easier to fix than trying to paint the stripes. I would save masking and painting as my last choice in this case. Good luck either way.

I have to agree with the others JOhn (@johnb). Worst case, you have to strip off the decal and paint anyway. Something else you can try first is use some tracing paper to trace the decals (or scan them and cut out the scans) and practice laying them down first to see what issues you might run into.

Count me also in for going with the decal, my friend @johnb.

@chinesegeorge, thanks for the feedback, George. Did you apply that decal in one go or did you cut it into seperate parts.

@gblair, thanks, George. You're right, in case of disaster they can always be removed.

@clipper, thank you, Carl. Sounds like a great idea, definitely going to try that. I will remove the part first, making it easier to handle.

@fiveten, thanks, Spiros. All of you have convinced me to at least give it try with the decals.

@chinesegeorge, thanks for the feedback, George. By looking at your build all looks perfectly fine, at first I though you painted them.

And the red is on. Much easier to paint than the orange color.
As you can see, I removed the fuel tank part to be able to apply the decal more easily.
