    Hi everyone!
My older 10yo son Loukas earned this prize in our local club contest last weekend...

Next afternoon he demanded to build it together, so, bye-bye bench priorities 😄
Here are the kit contents... ...it is the nice Esci 80's mold, with good overall detail and nice engraved panel lines, its biggest issue being the shallow intake (but an FOD cover is provided). Will go for this one scheme... Here is the progress so far... More to come!

Fun project! I remember enjoying one of those way back when. I still love Esci kits.

A great start has already been made, Spiros @fiveten

Lol, make sure Loukas gets his hands on that plastic too. Esci kits are perfect for father and son builds. Taking your son to club meetings or going to the hobby store is great way to spend time with them. A life time experience. My oldest son got away from the hobby and after 15yrs has returned to it. He is into sciencefi stuff and we can talk about paints and techniques and life in general. Cheers to Hellenic A-7s.

A-7s are really cool, Spiros (@fiveten), especially Greek planes that had some fading and character to them. When I first joined the Air Force, I remember seeing A-7s all the time. Looking forward to this one.

Thanks so much, my friends @stephen-w-towle and @gblair!

Yes, I first motivated both Loukas (now 10yo) and Nikos (now 8) to help me, now Loukas demands to remove parts from the sprue. Yesterday, he started filing down the sprue re protrusions (nibs?) upon removing the parts. Let's hope both will get into modeling. This, among others, will increase their chances not to be destroyed from the cellphone epidemic...

Nice that you have sprue helpers in-house now. Don’t your boys want to spend their free time staring at a some sort of like my 9 yr old grandson does when he’s not playing football (soccer)? Great choice of kit, Spiros @fiveten.

    Very nice progress, Spiros @fiveten
Great to see that both your sons are showing interest and are helping in getting the parts ready.

Interesting panels on the bottom of the wing, Spiros (@fiveten). I suppose they did that so they could make different versions of the A-7. At least the joint is on the bottom of the wing.

Yes, the "Modeling Virus" is the gateway drug into learning, reading, how to entertain yourself, and having some intellectual curiosity. It sure beats being addicted to cell phones and always looking down, as if you're praying to who knows what? I've entered rooms where it looks like a prayer vigil. No one is talking to the person next to them. Keep those hands busy for your boys Spiros (@fiveten). Your team project is looking good.
