Time for my dad to start the next silverbird.
After two Indian ones, now also a Pakistani one.
The PAF received 12 (or 14) Starfighters in the early 60ies and they saw combat in the 1965 and 1971 wars with India.
The Pakistanis nicknamed the F-104 badmash.

Seems the info on the Iliad design sheet is wrong and 56-803 didn´t participate in the 1971 war. Found info on two websites that 803 was lost in 1964 in a d´fatal strafing run training crash.

    Great entry, Reinhard @grimreaper
You don't see an PAF aircraft being build that often.
    Looking forward to it.

cockpit tub done and fuselage halves joined
gonna do the avionics bay closed, so no paint for that area
The kit seat looks ok, Kinetic also provided PE seatbelts but they are insufficient. Only two lap belts and shoulder belts, but there is also a reversed Y shaped belt and three kinda belt on the seat sides. Gonna use Eduard PE seatbelts for that.

Looks like a very good start, Reinhard (@grimreaper). Interesting use of a marker for the instruments. I don't usually check the facts with the kit history, but this is one of several times I have seen the facts wrong recently. I had a friend who flew F-104s in the early 70s and he said that you really had to be careful on ground attacks because the 104 would chew up altitude very quickly. As he said it: "The little tree you were using as an aiming point would become a big tree very quickly."

fit of the 3-part air intakes isn´t that good and they needed some work to join more or less smoothly

A bit of extra work to get it done perfectly, Reinhard @grimreaper
Good idea to mark them L/R

put a piece of plastic sheet between fuselage and air intakes so that there´s no gap
also some filling and sanding necessary
