Thailand was, at least in the beginning, an ally of Japan and the only country to receive aircraft from Japan.
Gonna use the good old Hasegawa Nate with decals from Kora doing the first scheme

Looking forward to see this Nate in Thai scheme, Reinhard @grimreaper
Never knew they used an elephant as national sign on their aircraft at that time.

Ditto from me, Reinhard (@grimreaper). I don't think I have seen Thai markings on the Nate before.

Wings look good, Reinhard @grimreaper. I have never had luck using tape to set the dihedral on the wings, but yours look perfect.

Hi, Reinhard @grimreaper: Another one that is really starting to take shape. It will be time for camo soon.

I really like these older Hasegawa Ki-27's. They build up very nicely and the fit is good too. I didn't install the wheels when the instructions tell you to do it.

Instead, I cut a large "V" shaped chunk out of the wheels on mine. This made it a whole lot easier to install them into the wheel pants. The V shape part of the cut was placed up deep into the wheel bay and is not noticeable. I cut the V portion all the way down to the axle hub.

This made it a lot easier to paint, because I didn't have to worry about getting paint overspray on the tire / wheels.

It looks like it is getting very close to paint time. This will look great, and we often don't see many built in Thai markings.

applied a primer and some white paint for the fuselage band
cowl ring not yet glued on because of the later installment of the oil cooler
@lgardner interesting method, maybe next time 🙂
