After moving stuff around storage to give stuff back to my son since he and his wife have bought their first home together, I can't locate my Glencoe J2F Duck kit.

For a back up I perused my collection that I can find to see what I can use. I have the old Monogram SBD kit (which is a kind of a mix of early and late SBD features) and have found that there not only were SBD present at the attack but one is surviving today at the Naval Aviation Museum. It went on to fight at Midway and other engagements so I find this a very worthy subject to take on, whether I find my Duck or not. This is the image of how this aircraft at Pearl Harbor. At the museum, she sports the markings she wore at Midway.

It will be a great build! As for SBD Dauntless planes, somewhere I saw decals for a Marine bomber exactly on December 7, 1941! All in gray. Several Dauntlesss flew in from the carrier Enterprise on December 7 and entered the fray.
