Third time I want to scrap Blenheim to basket. This bad canopy cracked off another time and I spend all night on puttting and sanding. I m upset. After repairing all is quite smooth and masked for painting.

So that’s why there isn’t many of this kit build around! I was under the impression the newer Airfix kits were good fitting models, guess this one fall short. I built their Defiant and enjoyed it tbh.
Good modelling work here, I’m sure you’ll cross the finish line with a splendid looking Blenheim @lis

Camo looks great, Bernard (@lis). It will really look nice with the decals. I had read a while ago that the canopy was a real weak point for this kit, so I have been letting mine sit in the stash till I am ready to tackle it. Obviously, it will need to sit for some more time before I attack it.

Love the smoke on the wings, @lis. Could never do that freehand and this smooth.

@fxrob Use well diluted matt black paint with good thinner☺️
PS. A little bit of Weathering by Tamyia products. Next step clear coat and oil washes. Smoke made by matt black are less visible on night black undersurfaces.

Looking good, Capt. It’s a great subject. I’ve built two of these and the 1/48 version. Never thought I’d have multiple Blenheims on my shelf.

Nothing major, but I do remember slightly trimming the area where the cockpit assembly joins the rest of the fuselage. I also remember sanding the engine cylinder heads a little to get them to fit inside the cowling.

Excellent progress despite the challenges, my friend @lis! This canopy is still giving you issues, hope all will be smooth from now on.
