I can only echo and parrot what's being written before, all of those positive comments Lis. Silver finishes are unforgiving and magnify and high light scratches, runs, drips and errors. Its not the kit its the finish. But, given your gifts and talents and the ability to get the details it looks like your well on your way. I've used a discontinued line of Model Master lacquers which has some very fine grained pigments and would find that it would rub off onto my fingers. I'd seal the finish with acrylic clear floor wax or Johnsons floor wax or what ever brand it is now days. I'd do it with a soft fine brush and try to get a even finish. I would then apply another coat of lacquer to vary the colors. Seal that and apply another coat of clear acrylic with a brush until I was happy with the finish.
That is decal sheet is impressive, I've collected both the Tamiya kit and have the new Airfix Mossie with the two stage Merlins or the chin mounted scoops. The Airfix kit looks promising. Having been indoctrinated by black and white TV and watching old movies like 633 Squadron with Cliff Robertson . . . one of the last movies to show the real Mossies making these kits is pretty easy.
