Hello my Friends! After short brake new project. Now sth light and fun after heavy historical projects. It takes me one year after that I revived parcel from Australia with Catalina RAAF. It is normal Academy box with extra Red Roo decals for one night painting. I have in my stash one oldschool PE set for use. Waist 50 cal Brownings are from my spare box. So let’s begin!

Nice work, Capt. That’s a solid kit that can be modified into a whole slew of interesting planes. I built a Canadian Canso from it last year.

I made a little mistake in main gear bays. I changed sides of PE Interior parts (two thin sheets per each side of plane totally four). I takes me a little sanding only.

A little mistake which for sure you are able to correct nicely, Bernard @lis
Sometimes this happens if we get too excited to make progress.

I saw it after glueing by CA glue. I can’t correct it, but this sheet of PE plates fits after little sanding good too.
PS. Work going on. I add 25g of weight to avoid sitting on tail.

I love Catalinas, Bernard (@lis). I didn't know you built seaplanes. Looks great.

It is my first seaplane George. @gblair I read about very long range flight of Catalonia from India to Australia and this inspired me to make model with diorama. At this build I will not build seaplane on water but I read about how make it realistic and mabye next seaplane will be on water. Because of this fact my Catalina has open main gear and close floats on wing tips.

PS. Waist Brownings are ready. Also 30 cal front Browning. This gun has very complex in build because I used only piece of styrene as main part of weapon, then I glued left and right PE plate of gun, brass barrel, viewsight, ammo box, and ammo cartridge box. PE fun butt has pieces of brass wire. All painted on Matt black and wood. lever of the upper desktop under canopy glass are also extra PE parts
