    Disaster with undercarridge was because I put in 45gr of lead. Model is quite heavy.

    PS. I made paintwork. Suggested paints (following Red Roo Manual) was Dark Sea Grey and US Midnight Blue.

    PS2.

    @kalamazoo why the 5A version has flaps under the tail. You have them in the open position. I thought it was some element of mounting the launching wheels in the PBY5 model. This Foliage Green painting looks great! I have never seen such painting on Catalina. A24-29 Found on my new sheet of decals It is PBY-4, but engines looks as from PBY5 model (small silver hubs, and rectangular air intakes under engine nacells.) in bright painting. The manual suggested a complete painting in sky blue, but somehow I don't want to believe it, I would rather think about a white color like US Gloss White or Off White.

    Some photos (I have problems with copy to my iPhone)

    capt. R, the PBY-5A has a gun that fires out through that opening under the tail, whose decals are for the PBY-4 ?, I don't believe over all sky blue either !

    I hate trying to figure out colors from black and white WW2 photos. Especially with the type of film they had back then, it is easy to misinterpret photos. I wonder if the "Sky Blue" mentioned in the instructions should be dark blue, or sea blue? In any case, it looks great, Bernard (@lis).

    Indeed difficult to judge from black/white images, Bernard @lis
    Dull silver might be the closest.

    @gblair

    @fiveten

    @johnb

    Mabye this paint? If I have good eyes frontal MG was demontaged from turret?

    PS. I would also like to point out that this PBY-4 has replaced engines, which I assume is due to the different propeller hubs and air intakes.

    PS.2 At last my replacement undercarridge is on my desk.
