    That cockpit is looking real good already, capt. R @lis! I wonder how much shelf space you have with all these big birds 🙂

    I have this kit as well Bernard (@lis). Which figures are you using for the crew members? Are they in the kit? Mine is buried away , otherwise I would look.

    Everything looks great so far. This will be an impressive addition to your collection.

    @clipper I used PJ Production sitting US Navy crew. It my last of last Navy Pilots from PJ. I also make Navigator table from sheet of styrene. PJ Owner closed his manufacture because of his retairment.
    PS. I love that Academy give few not nessesary parts for box painting. I use all extra parts to make my own version of Mariner, based on my aftermarket sheet of decals.

    Yes, it's a shame he had to close his business, although certainly understandable. I purchase a bunch of those figures in different scales for future use. Not too many 1/72 scale though, unfortunately.

    I spend all time after work to build wings. Wings are divided into three parts that need to be glue togeather. Quite complex and need dry fit in various places. I had a problem with the left wing, because the truss reinforcing the bomb bay protruded about 1.5 mm too high in relation to the wing mounting pins. This forced me to cut off the upper strip of the truss, which, however, is completely inconspicuous in the places where it rests deep in the bay, which made me very happy.

    You're doing well with a kit I found to be a complete disappointment. That they made the 5A, of which 35 were produced, rather than pure flying boat was a serious mistake.

    @fiveten

    @johnb thank You!

    @tcinla In the box You will find blank covers to mask undercarridge bays to make 5A version. If You use them and sand smooth Mariner will be a pure flying boat.

    @clipper Yes. Owner wrote on his website that He is looking for a buyer.

    @kalamazoo Thank You! Pity that Mariner is not RAAF, but modification sets for RAAF was out of stock.

    PS. Next importand stage: make correct angel of tail parts.
