This is a really cool build, Michael (@michaelt). The Nick is one of the best looking planes that the Japanese had, and building 3 makes it 3 times cooler. Looking forward to the rest of the build(s).

Your suggestion on the tarp sounds very plausible.

Purely fictitious, but I reasoned that the ammunition for the 37mm gun would be stored in the same space as the 20mm magazines. So, I built a ‘rack’ for the 16 37mm shells (copper wire - close enough to brass).
The plastic sheet drilled ok but was too thin to not warp a bit when I inserted the copper wires. I should have found a thicker piece of plastic to use instead.

The weathering is a bit more than I intended.

Fuel stains added.
