I'm annoyed by the streaks around the nameplates. I used decals liquid because the decals were difficult to adhere to and the liquid left an invisible streak that collected the pastel pigment, creating slightly visible traces.

Can you post a pic that shows the issue, my friend @lis?

    Hi Bernard (@lis):
    Plane and crewman look great.

I found a website that explains the colors of the deck crew. When you are on an aircraft carrier, the decks are crowded with people, even when launching or recovering aircraft. For pilots and others, it is important to know who does what quickly. The shirts worn by the people on the deck are color-coded by what job they perform. Here is a website that explains: https://www.defense.gov/News/Feature-Stories/Story/Article/3470367/rainbow-of-the-sea/

For the pastels, did you seal them with clear before adding the decals. If pastels aren't sealed, fluid will life them and cause them to pool. Sealing them will lock the effects of the pastels in-place, but may also make the pastels look lighter on the model.

I used some Yellow dust now and next coat of semi gloss clear. But edge of drop of dryed micro Sol are visible.

George I always used pastels as weathering master set from Tamiya after setting decals on semi gloss clear. And after that another coat of clear.

PS. Very interesting site! So I have white team.

Hi Bernard (@lis): I have sometimes gotten marks in the paint after using MicroSol/MicroSet. I am not sure, but I have always thought it was glue from the decal that mixed with the MicroSet and then dried, leaving a mark which is difficult to remove. I try to soak up any extra fluid with a paper towel before it dries. I think it also sometimes occurs if the paint is not fully cured. I have had the decal fluid leave a depression in the paint that is impossible to remove, and I think it was due to uncured paint.

Preshading looks great from here, my friend @lis! Regarding the streaks, it happens from time to time. It's not that prominent, though. It looks ok. Our friend's @gblair advice sounds great.
