Picked up this latest boxing and straight into it. Always liked captured aircraft as alternate scheme.
Straightforward build by looks of parts / instructions / reviews etc.
Have used a generic mix of Tamiya Greens for cockpit internals - by the time it is all painted, weathered etc and buried deep in the recesses of the fuselage not much left to see in any case.

Update - No 2
I have finished the cockpit and was going to use some Eduard IJN seat belts...as you can see in the photo the set seems a tad overscale (suggest 1/32 as about right) In the end I cut some Tamiya tape , painted them and will weather to make look used. The wings are glued up and seams checked. Found some ics of real aircraft so excellent reference available. Aircraft was fitted wit wing cannons though gunsight was removed as far as I can tell.

Darren, looks great so far! One of the few remaining George's in the world is parked in Dayton, OH USA right behind "Bock's Car". Always struck my as a Japanese P-47 for some reason (fairly big plane, no?), and even more so with the US insignia on the side. Looking forward to more progress.

Build Update No 4 - Happy with AS12 base and started painting tail (white, blue & red stripes), anti glare panels (Rubber black & German Grey) and highlight selective panels with Alclad mix. Going well so far...

Build Update No.5 - decals are on. All went on with no issues using hot water and Mr Setter decal solution. The rudder markings are painted, always prefer this option if possible as a few lumps and bumps for a decal to get over. Next step a few gloss coats to seal the decals and then onto weathering. Canopies require masking still - not my favourite part of any build. Landing gear is semi assembled and painted. Cannon barrels for wing and antenna mast are also painted. Not much else to add after that...
