I’m finishing up my three-aircraft build of IJN Pearl Harbor subjects by building this kit as Cdr Fuchida’s aircraft at Pearl Harbor. As Fuchida’s carried a bomb, and the kit comes with a torpedo, it’ll be without any payload. Markings are as noted in Bert Kinzey’s book on the Pearl Harbor attack.
I know the green paint applied shortly before the attack weathered off quickly, but on December 7 it should still have been largely intact. Nonetheless I added a chipping medium intermediate coat so I can do some moderate chipping.
I’m using Vallejo Model Air paints except for the underside, which is Scalecolors.
