Your Jake looks great, Spiros. You are turning a very rough kit into a polished jewel. I love the lines of the Jake. I am not sure I am as brave as you in taking on the puttying and scratch-building challenge but you have given us a great tutorial in improving this kit.

    Hi everyone!

    Dolly painted and drying

    Dolly wheels
"QCs" are sleeping now, so I found the opportunity to -yep, I admit it- hand paint the canopy (they won't let me...insisting on masking..haha!).
The Jake's top green color was futured. Next will be masking to apply the underside grey.
All the best, Great EoJ GB!

    Masking time!

I used UHU tac at the borders of the camo to have a realistic looking demarcation line.

Attaching the tac around the struts, to obtain the demarcation lines, was not a necessarily ungraphic situation...(lol).

the rest of the masking was finished with masking tape...a lot of it!

Now she's ready for the paintshop again!

    Underside grey done...

...was a bit challenging to paint in-between struts...

Masks removed. Some initial touchups were made.
    Future drying...

Some more touchups will be required.
On to finish the cockpit now, which needs quite a bit of work still...
    And then decal time

    Lookin' great Spiros.
Gotta get me some Uhu Tac. Which paints did you use?

    Thanks George @georgeswork!
About the tac: It's great stuff. It can stick quite strongly to the paint at times, so mind your paints adhesion upon using it.
    About the paints:
Humbrol 75 Bronze green for the top
    127 US Ghost grey for the bottom;
226 Interior green for the cockpit
77 Navy blue for the dolly

Spiros @fiveten my friend, I am happy that you take masking serious these days 🙂

And with all that off, it looks very good indeed. GR8 transformation of this old kit! really looking forward to the red dots and what-nots! Keep pushing.

Cockpit almost completed; needs some smoothing and some touchups here and there.

Started decalling: those bit on the thick side old granies behave themselves marvellously.

Mr Mark Softer, as a nice gentleman, is taking care of them at the moment, ensuring they will snuggle down adequately.
All the best, great EoJ GB!
