GR8 'pit Spiros! And the added color of decals does wonders to the overall look of this kite.

    Thanks my friend @airbum...
...yep, cockpit, based in rare photos and Val inspiration, seems not that bad in its ficticious reality...

The decals really bring the model alive. Flawless work overall and very near the finish line! Man those floats look huge. I am always struck by how much the Japanese could get from their floatplane designs, including formidable fighters like the Rufe and Rex as well as first class scouts like the Jake. This is going to be one cool looking model.

    Thanks @airbum!

    Thanks @mvtb!

Thanks @georgeswork! Also for my "ficticiously real!" cockpit!

Thanks @holzhamer! Some bits here and there, weathering, quite a few of touchups and we are finishing!

Thanks @coling! I am too struck by the floatplane Japanese designs: classy designs indeed! The Japanese country configuration, along with their war doctrine and their brilliant design and engineering may have contributed to this direction.

With The Me-261 "Adolfine" consuming most of my time the last couple of days, I did some progress with my Jake, too: I Installed the nice looking exhausts, finished the assembly of the dolly, drilled holes at the strut bases for the rigging and touching up here and there (pics will be posted to the next installment...no camera now, sorry...)

Run out of yellow paint for touching up the yellow fin band.

As I have the day off today, I will rush to my local hobby shop for one!

After yellow touchup it will be weathering time!

    And the pics:

    The exhausts

    Dolly finished, awaiting touchups.
I think I will add 8 "stained wood" blocks where the floats rest.

Nice work Spiros! It’s almost finished, the only missing (major) parts are the canopy and propeller right?
