    Unfortunetly yesterday evening I spent all time to wonder how I need to mask tail. Maybe it's better to put the decals?

    I always use decals, if they are available, @lis.
    However, I do admit that a very well done masked job looks more realistic.
    But it is way more difficult, time consuming, and has to be really succesful, in order to look better than the decals.
    If the decals are precise, you might very well use them and have a great result!
    Lookign forward to your beautiful Kate!

    @fiveten

    I'm a little inspired by this movie:

    however, I want to paint the tail at the beginning and then mask it, not the reverse as in the movie

    Painting stripes on tail was very tiring. I have the impression that the colors are too dark. I used Flat red and Orange-yellow.

    @jmillan I made mistake with tail tip painting. It should be in natural metal. I have to correct it.

    Welcome friends! In the end, the stripes look acceptable, although I don't know if I will improve one orange stripe for the thousandth time.
    Main paint is flat red from gunze. stripes is orange Yellow IJN from gunze. I'm not sure if this color is correct at all (represents C1 IJN), but US yellow (As C2 IJN) was to bright to me.

    Looking super, my friend @lis!
    Regarding the orange yellow, it looks correct to my eye, as well.
    If something looks right to the eye, it probably is.
    Looking forward to your progress!

    Sorry to hear it, @lis.

    @fiveten After Total disaster with mr color leveling thinner, repainting all fuselage and cockpit and again weatherin by tamiya panel line wash (photo). Black shadows on cockpit Nakajima green looks quite good. I think I don't repaint this area under canopy. What do you think about it?
