Spent a goodly amount of today messing with this thing hope it's worth it. In the old days, one sprayed on the IJN Grey and ...onward. These days I must use this new technique of spray diddling (some call it marbling, or "black basing". Basically, it's just a fancy form of pre-shading, only more random than previously. I used it on my recently done P-40F, and it worked out pretty good, so here we go again, on a grey subject this time. So's I figgers black and white would work under grey, eh? I think it will be OK if it doesn't disappear under clear coats and panel line enhancement. We'll see.

Also got my lower aluminum coat on the Shiden-Kai today. Won't be any painting tomorrow, a monsoon is supposed to hit my dear old Northeast, so back to tanks...

Coming along pretty well, Bill! I love your preshading technique. Those were the days before, these are the better days today!
...P.S. Already stole your "Custom double straw spatted wheel aircraft model support". What a great idea! Justintime before painting my Nate!
    All the best!

It shows up better for real, not in the pics. Just make double damn sure the straws stay in those pants! Gotta be stiff ones. Try not to turn it upside down too much.

Looking good Bill ! So those straws are not rated for negative "G's" ? Dang it man...

Looking forward to your next installment on this build. Same Bat time, same Bat Channel...
