    This one is really starting to look like a Ki-44 now ! Well done. It's a huge engine and such a tiny air frame. Your last photo shows this off very well.

    Looks great. First time I've noticed the odd tail section Nakajima chose, the horizontal stabilizers so far forward

    Agree with @blackadder57: odd tail section indeed, being beautiful even by being different.
    Good job so far, Reinhard!

    This is probably my favorite radial engine Japanese fighter. The first picture you posted shows how graceful it was. Sadly none exist today...

    Your Dad's model is coming right along, and I can't wait to see the next updates. Great work !

    Very nice ! and those are some big guns indeed. The exhaust system looks great too, and the seat is very noticeable in your first photo .

    That 40 MM must have made some serious damage when these rounds impacted the intended target. I have read that this weapon was not liked very much by the pilots because of it's slow rate of fire.

    @Louis
    They didn´t use the 40mm much, soon replaced them with a 12,7mm.
    It had a low muzzle velocity and the pilots had to come very close to the bombers to achieve a hit.

    Sorry, I'm late for the party! And yes, it looks just a little strange with that tail for that nose - half the length and it might pass for a GeeBee on steroids!

    That's a great yellow, Reinhard!
    And, yes, @airbum's GeeBeeish remark is spot on!

    btw the control surfaces are painted with a selfmixed green-grey

    decided to use the decals for the yellow wing edges, my dad couldn´t get the masking done
    painted the whole thing with Alclad White Aluminium

    The Alclad paint didn´t get along with the MRP Grey Primer underneath, reacted in a strange way and made an awful surface. So my dad sanded everyting off. Now he applied glossy MRP Black as base and will use a metallic MRP paint.
