    Aaaaahhh! That nasty 59 Sentai!
But I'm sure you 'll do a splendid touchup @mvtb!
Looks terrific so far, and ...finish line slowly approaching.

    Marcus, @mvtb
The decals are coming along nicely, and I like your choice of markings. This is looking fantastic.

Now the usual small fixations to make it spotless.

    Tks Spiros,trying to...

The masking took the tail decals (old Hasegawa ones) off,so the lazy one here will have to paint them, and besides,in the stabilizers too,for this plane had them!

The situation now, first with the doomed masking, and then with the retouching:

Great job on this kit, Marcus.
I built this same kit/aircraft 10 years ago.
I masked the yellow wing leading edge, fuselage and tail stripes but used decals for the rest.
I've since seen references to span-wise stripes just ahead of the elevators, but it is hard to tell if they are there on the few photos of the type in 59th Sentai service that I have access to.
For mine, I don't think they were applied this late in the war.

Marcus (@mvtb), removing the decals to paint the areas instead, what a dedication! Looking forward to your next post on this high quality build! Well done so far.

Mike, thanks - as for the stripes, latest correspondence with Mr. K.Nagao assures the aircraft has the horizontal stripes...well,I will go for it then...

    Thanks Spiros,always supportive!

Eric, indeed it was the decals failure to hold on there that caused me to decide to paint them...no way out my friend. All the best!

I had similar problems with a Lifelike set for Ki-84s. The instructions said the decals were printed by Microscale, but they were thinner than any other Ms decals I have. It seemed that the ink was very stiff and cracked readily with raised and recessed detail, and there was no clear top coat to the decals. I contacted the makers who said they had had no other complaints but were sorry for my problem. I was able to find reasonably matching Vallejo Model Color paints for touch-up.
