Tom,this squadron was used as combat training in Japan and,as usual,sometimes as B-29 interceptors.I have made another A6M2,overall black,acting at night,from another Kokutai.

The references are all in Japanese books,and I got some pictures,but not from this specific machine,which is provided by a special edition A6M2 kit from Hasegawa : https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hasegawa-00666-mitsubishi-a6m2b-zero-fighter-type-21-all-green--144761

I love this all-green scheme, Marcus (@mvtb). Looks great. I don't think I have seen white diagonals on the wings before, so I am looking forward to the rest of the markings.

I am quickly becoming a fan of single color builds. They look very good when completed, and are easier to paint, since you usually don't have to do too much masking work on them. This is really looking good, and I will be watching for your next installment.

I am starting to realise that Zero's have just as many variations as 109's. Great job on the paint @mvtb! Thank you for sharing yet another variation on the theme. Looking forward to the result of the decaling effort.

Erik,there are more besides this one and the overall black I built some time ago,and that´s only A6M2 model 21´s!
