The Nate is a really elegant looking airplane with a bunch of different paint schemes. I'm looking forward to this one, Spiros.

    Thanks Robert @roofrat!

    Thanks George @gblair!

At 1/72 there is the Hase ex-Mania venerable kit, which, checking from internet photos, is a more or less scaled down and simplified 1/48. Panel lines are a mix of raised and engraved and detail is ok for today, being spectacular when this kit appeared some 40 years ago. So it should be a simple and pleasant built. I can see in the net there are some other options in 1/72, so you can have your quality research to finalise your choice. It is such as lovely plane and I believe is sufficiently kitted 1/72. Building it is addictive.

    All the best!

    Hello Spiros, @fiveten
You have made some great progress. It won't be much longer, and you will be ready to spray some color on your model. Well done ! It's looking fantastic.

    Hi everyone!
A step ahead! A real pleasure to build her. Just look at these Hase supplied "initial release" wheel beauties.
I have to say that Louis's @lgardner builds mentione above here are EXTREMELY helpful (apart from being wonderfully executed). Finding numerous "tips and tricks in there". Thanks Louis!

Now, I'm offline a few days, and you just race ahead 🙂
Great progress - now I've never tried the tapebelts - do you have any long-term experience with those? - I am getting more end more tired of photoetched belts having their paint breaking off, and considers a few alternatives for future builds.

Hi Erik @airbum ! I used masking tape, doped with some green paint, cutting it with my Excel knife. Quite easy to cut and sticks wherever you put it. Use it all the time. Here's an image of the "raw" material! Hope this is of some help.
    All the best!

Hi everyone! (Ashamed to say but...) Yes! Used putty even at Hase's 1/48 Nate! Seems that our lives (putty's and mine) are very well "bonded" (!)...I am impossible...
All the best, and keep on building, my friends!

Putting along rather nicely (sorry could not help it) - but really, nice progress here, and the shape of that plane is just soo cool!

This is really starting to look like what is pictured on the box top... It's amazing at how fast the model comes together once you get to this stage. I opted to leave the small gun camera off the trailing edge of the wing, and also decided to leave mine "clean" with no drop tank. I think the plane just looks that much better without them.

We all have to use putty at one time or another. No harm , no foul, and it will make the final product look even that much better.

This is another great installment, and thanks for posting it here for us to enjoy.

    Thanks Spiros, @fiveten

"The right posting at the right time", Louis! Had decided not to use the wing tanks, for all your above "correctly" stated reasons, but I would reluctantly use the gunsight. Will not use it now. No Sir!
    Thanks for posting, Louis @lgardner!

Before you try to put those wheels in, ya gotta cut slots in them, you know from an edge to the center, for the mounting pins to slide into. You try to squeeze them in there as is, your gonna split your pants!
You don't want to do that in public.

Yes Bill is correct. I used a saw to cut a V into my wheels and then simply slipped them in place.

As far as the gun sight, I would use it. It is a periscope sight that goes through the wind screen.

The gun camera was a small plastic part that is mounted near the leading edge on top of the left wing. I had to fill the holes in for it on mine.

I also filled the holes on the lower wing surface, since I didn't want to use the drop tanks.

    Hope this helps.
