    Now that the type 22 is mostly done, I can return to the 52. I polished off he plane up using Tamiya polished and about 30 q-tips. I’m looking to get that nice shine fresh Zeros had. As a m unintended and consequence, the polishing wore down the topcoat somewhat and exposed the marbling underneath. As Bob Ross would say, a happy accident.

    Wow, last update was almost 3 months ago. Well I’m nearing the end now, weathering is almost complete, I just need to do the exhaust stains and gun powder stains. Then it’s the landing gear, antenna, wire, and gunsight. The rear canopy was broken when I bought this kit second hand, so I used one from a Hasegawa kit. Fits ok, but I may try to get a replacement
