As if a century had passed

In the end it was a severe virus of unknown origin that kept me out for a week. Then came the usual long vacations followed by a period of laziness and so, after five (!) months...

After the decaling two hands of gloss (AK two components gloss varnish) to seal the decals .

Seat belts on and the cockpit is ready . Then starting to prepair the tires for the final assembly .

Not much to say yet , all my comments will follow in the next - last - update .

Untill then , keep on rockin ' !

Some really nice progress, Michael @faraomike
The Good-Year logo on the tires, is that a decal?

Thank you John ! No , are not decals . They are painted by hand, inside the embossed logos that already exist .

Michael, I just went through this build and it triggered a trip down memory lane as I recalled seeing this fantastic racer on TV back in the day. VERY futuristic! Keep it comin' now that you are back on track @faraomike.

The truth is that this particular vehicle has always excited me, which is why it is the first of a mini collection that I hope to complete at some point.

Hello fellow modellers . Having this little beast finished I will share my impressions with you :

First and generally speaking, this is an overall good kit, taking into account its age then we are talking about an excellent kit. The detail is at a high level, fitting of the parts is at least very good and the overall engineering of the model is such that it helps to assemble it without facing any particular problems .

However, I will comment negatively on at least two points: The clarity of the instructions, especially in the chapter of the front suspension, where it is not completely clear which part goes where and above all HOW (in which direction), making test fitting strictly mandatory before the final assembly-glueing .

Second , the decals! For some reason the Good Year logos don't cooperate either in terms of their adhesiveness (once they sit on the model you can't move them even a millimeter) nor in terms of elasticity (if you manage to move them, it will most likely break and indeed not in two pieces but in more).

For the first, maybe a little more time in the hot water would help get some of the glue off them, and for the second, maybe airbrushing a light hand of liquid decal film while they're still dry on their tab can help .

In any case, it is a kit that you will be happy with and the result will justify you as long as you show the necessary -minimal- care.

The final result is amazing, Michael @faraomike
So cool to be able to see the engine back in those days of F1.
