Even with the wonky wheels it looks great, Kevin @injidup
A guitar string sounds like a nice solution.

Sorry, folks. No progress on this for a while. I’ve bought two full size cars (the same model!) and will be spending some time restoring one of them. It’s also heading to summer here, which means more socialising especially with school friends for our kids.
I promise that I will post any progress I manage to make on the Bug.

No worries, my friend @injidup! Build with the pace thay suits you, post whenever you feel, that's one of the magic aspects of this site. Your restoration project sounds awesome as does socializing with other parents.

Looking forward to that 1:1 restauration project, Kevin @injidup
Socialising is also a very important aspect in life.
The Bugatti will wait patiently till you have time again.

I’m working on a Subaru Brumby ute/pick-up (BRAT in the USA) as a simple but useful car to teach my boys about mechanics. Useful life skills.
I bought one that is registered but it’s a bit rusty so I bought another with almost no rust that is not registered. We will work on the second (beige) one and sell the first one. I think the beige one will need a replacement engine before I can register it, and in the future will get an engine swap to a newer engine from a Liberty

I agree on the importance of practicle skills, something which is not that common anymore these days, Kevin @injidup
You have a nice subject to teach your boys those skills.
