    Hello ,
I started this Mustang last year
This bird will be finished with the markings of LOU IV (P-51D-5-NA from 361st FG)
I started with the cockpit components as usual. Cockpit area built OOB.
The kit and its fitting are excellent. Though no need to aftermarket products I tried to modify the wheel well area by adding some wires.
Natural metal surfaces are painted by Alclad. D-day bands are painted by masking .
I will use Eagle cal decal set.
Nowadays it s ready to accept decals.

I wish you could describe your weathering process in the cockpit, that wooden floor looks very nice indeed!

    Thanks Martin,
To simulate wooden floor I painted it brown firstly. Second step is a coat of gloss clear. Later I washed it by artist oil paint thinned with terebentine by using a brush.
But the direction of the brush touch is front to back

Last week, some of decals removed, and upper surfaces repainted.
First, overall RAF dark green and later dday bands area to Olive drab. Now waiting for the decals. I will try to take pictures and post them this week end

    Reply to Mr Scott Hackney

    No,
At the beginning I decided to built it as closed engine cowlings
And engine was not built completely as you can see in the construction pictures.

I like it,...Really like how you flipped the camo on the fuselage and added the stripes on the tail feathers. How long do you think it'll take you to finish?
