A really nice result, Tom @tcinla
-
Excellent result, my friend @tcinla!
-
Here it is, finished. So far s I can tell from the limited photographic history, this is wht it looked like when first completed.
-
Really nice work, Tom. That fairing behind the cockpit blended in great.
-
@gblair - There were 2-seaters done that way, with Malcolm hood for the rear set, but the three 4th FG hacks were done with coffin-lid canopies.

Hi Tom (@tcinla): I have been rearranging my hobby room and came across an article that I wrote in 1990 for the old Scale Modeler Magazine. I had converted a 1/48 Monogram P-51 into a two-seat hack. I didn't […]

Actually it's just another canopy for a Birdcage - the D-Day double klit has both birdcage and malcolm options for both kits, so I had "extra." The seat is the early version for the P-51B-1.

Thanks for your comments, John and George. "Landing sticks" is a good way to describe the supports I made for painting. I will probably craft them more carefully for my next model as they were very useful and […]

Nice work getting that rear part of the canopy scratchbuilt, Tom (@tcinla). The Super Metallics really look good. I just got some in the mail, so I hope to try it soon.
-
I do something very creative on every model that requires a partial repaint, Colin (@coling). Your careful efforts have resulted in a great repair job.
-
This plane really looks a lot larger than I thought it was, Kyle (@kopperhed). Nice work on creating the markings that you need. I am the same way about cleaning the airbrush, and I am willing to do a lot of […]
-
Very nicely done, Kyle @kopperhed The headline article is well deserved.
-
This looks really good, Colin @coling Nice idea with the landing sticks and the removal of the glue worked out perfectly.
-
That NMF came out perfectly, Tom @tcinla
-
A perfect start, David @davids_models
-
No, I don't do anything to the SM paints. So far, so good. You're right about doing variants like those.
-
Thanks. Thankfully with Tamiya Tomcats, the only drama is self inflicted.
-
Thanks, Spiros. More to come soon.
-
Looking good Tom (@tcinla). This certainly makes for a unique addition to the Mustang stable. I think that one could probably spend a lifetime just building Mustang variations (and Spitfires and ME-109's for that […]

Decals tomorrow afternoon and maybe final assembly. Nic thing decal-wise is it didn't have any stencils.
