How to use dry pastels for washes

A complement to the recently posted video tutorial How to emphasize detail with pin washes, this clip demonstrates the some basic weathering technique using dry pastels or pigments rather than oils. Found on SMConsortium.

  1. I've used the "charcoal stick scraping method" for a number of years. But I've always used it for 'dry' weathering (streaks, stains, etc.) never mixing it with a solution for a wash. I'll have to watch this video again and pay more attention. Thanks.
