Eduard 1/32 Bf-109E-4
Eduard's Bf-109E-4, done as Galland's airplane. usd the Squadron vac canopy to correct the early-release incorrect canopy.
In 1984 I had the opportunity to meet Galland (along with Gunther Rall and Walter Krupinski) at the AFAA convention. He was just as cool a customer as you've always known he was. Couldn't smoke cigars then, but still the kind of guy you didn't have to be facing the door to know he had walked into the room.
Very nice work, Tom. The Emil with a yellow nose has always been a personal favourite and sooner or later I want to build a 32nd scale myself. Dragon or Eduard, that is the question...
I haven't seen the Dragon kit, but those who have say it is superior to the Eduard. Myself, I am now "109'ed out" so far as new builds are concerned.
Great job! Tom, always wondered - how much time you have spent on a single model? It's 32nd scale, you have a crazy speed assembly)))
I probably spent 25 hours on this. Given my self (un)employment, I have time for this.
Sharp...I do like Galland's Markings.
That's a great build Tom. The finish is just superb! Galland is a very interesting personality. I have his book, "The First and the Last " and it's quite illuminating.
