Nichimo 1/48th Ki-45 ‘Toryu’ OOB Dual Build
This pair of Nichimo Ki-45s was built with no extras other than seatbelts. These had been in my stash for years and I'd also obtained the Hasegawa kit, so I decided to build these first since I was in the mood for a quick no fuss project. I considered cutting out and replacing the wingtip nav lights with clear stock, but was too lazy and just painted them on- so they're kind of an eyesore. Paints were Floquil (sprayed freehand with my Grex) except for WEM red brown primer on the propellers & spinners. Decals on Ito's overall green machine were from Aeromaster, those on Yamamoto's were obtained via Arawasi.
"Da Chief" strikes again! More boring Whipple Models, all done to the same excellent standard. 🙂
Erik, another great job. You and I have similar interests, and similar kits in the stash!
Beautiful work, Erik! I really enjoy these older generation Japanese kits, even if they have minor inaccuracies according to more recent research. I've got one of these started and another in the stash. Hope mine end up looking half as good as yours.
