Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I 1:72

January 7, 2013 · in Aviation · · 13 · 5.3K

Hi Guys

I want to share my supermarime Mk.I from kit.

I cooperated it with aires detail set (open engine, gun bays, cockpit) and photoetched parts by (flaps). I also made a lot of details myself (rivets, etc.) I painted it with acryclic GSI colors (RAF set) for camouflage. I wanted to reach realistic weathering. I was focusing on clean build. This model shows spiftire from No.616 Squadron flown by F/Lt Denis Gillam who started against german bombers from Leconfield airbase in august 1940. I enjoyed this built, it wasn´t easy but I´m glad with result. I hope that you like it 🙂

  1. Simply great work, Jan ! Exquisitely wrought Spitfire…one of the best in 1/72 scale which I´ve ever seen. .. How much time does it take? 🙂

  2. I didn´t expected... It were hundreds of hours 🙂 🙂

  3. Break this man's hands ...I mean that in a good way. Out standing work with riveting and the painting, opening up all of the panels and showing off a out standing Merlin all in 1/72nd scale too.

  4. 1/72nd scale...? You're not foolin' ANYBODY! That's the Tamiya 1/32nd scale Spitfire, right? Seriously, that is outstanding & brilliant craftsmanship/workmanship, my friend. Simply stunning modeling. I may as well stop posting models here...or even buildin' 'em!

  5. Wow! Such skills can only envy! Jewelry work!

  6. 1/72nd? Really? Wow, that has to be the most detailed model I've ever seen in that scale. SENSATIONAL WORK on your part!

  7. 1/72? Put your hands over here on this block and let me bring out this nice sharp cleaver. WHACK! There, solved your problem, didn't I? (more like our problem!). 🙂
That is one of the most stunning Spitfire models I have ever seen, and the fact that it is 1/72 makes it the MOST STUNNING Spitfire model I have ever seen!
We need to increase the average income of you Eastern Europeans, so you have more models to build and less time to obsess over them. 🙂

  8. Very nice, and very impressive. I can only hope that my 1/32nd scale looks half as good. I really like the overall finish, looks war torn and used. Really nice.

  9. Stunning work on this model. besides all the opened up detail, the riveting ads a lot to the looks. Very convincing. /M.

  10. Wow.. I didn´t expect. Thanks for possitive comments. 🙂 🙂

Out of this world my friend...stunning

  12. Hello Jan. I know you posted this a while ago, but I am a newer member. I just wanted to compliment you on your work. It looks fantastic and, as others have said, even more so for being 1/72. I have the same kit sitting in the box on my shelf and you have certainly set a high standard to follow. I may look up the engine kit and possibly add it to my build.

  13. Incredibly well done, an amazing piece of work
