Revell 1/25 Dodge Magnum SRT8

February 25, 2015 · in Automotive · · 10 · 2.3K

Some friends in a club in southern Florida were having a group build. I thought it would be fun to give them some support, and add to their total number of entrants. Unfortunately, mine will only be pics, and not there in person, but it's the thought that counts...

Car models are not my choice of venue (not knowing what I was doing), and getting a late start, I had more ideas than I had time or skill to handle. Basically I just lowered it all the way around, and re-worked the front end, cutting out the grill and replacing it with wedding vail. I flattened out the hood, to show off the ghost flames that I wanted to paint on. I painted the headlight lens to look more "Bentleyish".

I started out the paint job with a semi-gloss blackm masked off the flames, then matted (not flat) the rest. Although it's not easy to photograph, I got the effect I was after. I guess I was influenced by the Cadillac Escalade on the TV showm "Chicago PD". That is one "business only" Caddy.

  3. Joe,
Great job on this but it no longer looks like the family station wagon. Love it and would like to drive one.

  4. Kind of looks like the car I could make my last journey in, Joe, very cool.

  5. Nice job Joe. Very dark and mysterious.

  6. Big Bad and Black, great build, Joe, like it very much. Its much ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. This is a station wagon I would love to drive. It begs to burn rubber. Darth Vader would look nice behind the wheel. Great build. Well done!

  8. Sorta reminds me of something outta "Mad Max"... - ๐Ÿ™‚

    • My old Hyundai GT needs a paint job, and I was thinking about duplicating this in 1:1 scale. (don't know about the wheels) I think I'd tint the windows a little more for this Florida sunshine !
