Martin B-57 Intruder – REVELL – 1/72

July 24, 2015 · in Aviation · · 15 · 4.5K

This model was fitted to prove that you can put functionality in a kit without much compromise the accuracy of the final result.

In it, all rudders are mobile (elevator, aileron and direction), the turbines rotate (just blow), the landing gear is retractable and the canopy opens and closes as the true model!

It is the period of the Vietnam War and his painting was portrayed to the standard this season.
A curiosity the most was the incorporation of the same rotation system for the door-bombs (functionality identical to the original model).

The kit does not present any arms thus created all in scratch using sprue plate and aluminum beer cans.

The kit is an old Revell and all the work took 02 years to complete.

I hope you enjoy the result!

  1. Nicely done, sir. Can you expound on the following:

"The Revell kit does not present any arms thus created all in scratch using sprue plate and aluminum beer cans."

Do you mean to say that the under-wing stores are NOT from another kit and ALL completely scratch-built?

Yes Craig! This model ALL arms completely scratch-built!

I changed the text as your suggestion ...

      • I wasn't suggesting you change your text...I just wanted to make sure I understood what you were saying. The "hand-made" armament makes that build that much more spectacular. Bravo!

  2. Very nice work Alexandre, some great scratch building.
    Well done mate.

  3. Impressive project Alexandre, that obviously required a lot of ingenuity and modelling skill. Did you re-scribe the kit too?

exceptional work on the old REVELL 1/87 scale B-57B!

  5. It's great, Alexandre, all of those working surfaces, especially in 1/72, really good. Doesn't it look quite a lot like a Canberra? Is it about the same size?

  6. Very nice build!

  7. Excellent work on a "box scale" kit that is no doubt, older than you ! Congratulations on a lot of work, well done.
