1:72 adM Industrial Building

December 29, 2015 · in Diorama · · 7 · 1.2K

Another one from 2014, one of adM's range of resin kit building that I put together and painted for a future diorama, done at a time when my model making 'mojo' had taking a vacation so did this to kick start my brain.
Painted an weather with various paints, washes and pigments, just kep applying them till it looked right.

  1. That turned out very nice Michelle. You got the colors down pat. I like your plaster effect on the inside.
    California Steve.

  2. ...and it does ("look right", that is). 🙂

  3. A good starting point. I think these basic vacform/resin units can be used to build up a convincing scene. Personally, I think I'd prefer a little height, so might consider creating a partial roof or framed area from balsa sections, and perhaps add a few roof tiles or as here with corregated sections for a rusted look, with broken gutter hanging down. That said, you've created a nicely painted unit for a future project. I've not come across adM before so may well look them up. Thanks for posting.

  4. Thanks Rob, but I can't have a roof for the scene I have in mind. adM are a small company and their web site is http://www.admmodels.co.uk/

  5. Loks convincing, Michelle, can you tell us more about the scene you are planning?

    • What I envisage is a Jagpanther of Hetz hiding in the building behind wreckage/rubble. This going to be a little scene that is going to be best viewed from the, what most people will feel is the rear, as in the back of the building.
