1/72 Sword Spitfire Mk Vc Trop

February 14, 2018 · in Aviation · · 10 · 2.7K

This is my Mk Vc Trop Markings are for MA292 flown by F/O Lawrence Weggery RNZAF of 615 Squadron RAF at Dohazari, India, Jan 1944. The markings are from the kit. I added IFF "cheese cutter" antennas from Uschi Superfine Thread. Prop and spinner are Quickboost. Also added some Eduard seatbelts and a resin dorsal ID light. Paints are from MRP and weathered with pastels and silver artists pencil.

  1. Geoffrey, this is really nice, I had to take another look when I noticed it was 1/72 scale.

  2. 1/72nd...?! You're makin' the rest of us look bad, Geoff - well ...at least ME. 🙁

  3. Wow this looks great ! I don't think I have ever seen a Spit with a Vokes filter under the nose and wearing markings like this from the CBI theater... Very impressive work in a scale that my eyes no longer let me build. 🙂
    Well done my friend.

  4. Nicely done Geoffrey, especially in that scale and with cheese cutter antenna none the less!

  5. Love it! My preferred scale, and very nicely detailed and weathered. Beautiful.

  6. An excellent build!

  7. Stunning job mate. Very well done

  8. Very cool Spitfire.

  9. Gorgeous work, Geoffrey. I especially like the painting - great scheme and subtle weathering. I also like the canopy, was this the original kit 'glass' or AM, looks impressively clear in this scale.

  10. Hello! Great model! Did you enjoy build Sword kit? Any major difficultes?
