Show report Grevens Glue Galore 2018
A quick look at photos taken at Grevens Glue Galore in Borensberg, Sweden. Photos taken yesterday so they are still fresh. What started out as a show mainly for model cars has evolved into a more general model show even if focus still is on vehicles. The GGG show is celebrating 20 years this year. One thing model shows are doing for me is to to give me new ideas and feed me with a creative flow. Somehow I´ll build a truck one day, that was the inspiration I got from this year´s GGG.
Very interesting mix of models, and to a very high standard. Thanks for posting.
Yes, Rob. Certainly bit different from most other shows I´m visiting due to the high civilian and shiny content of models. Makes one to view one´s own modelling in a different perspective.
Good stuff. Thanks for posting Stellan.
My pleasure, Anthony.
Some fine work displayed there, sir...I enjoyed the "tour" - thanks.
Always a pleasure, Craig!
Real nice builds!
Yep. Some of the best model car builders in the world around. Mr Juha Airio from Finland (always present) kicked behinds and also won Best in Show with his 1960 Ford Anglia. Our own Mr Charles King also did a good show with some of the dioramas and trucks we have seen here at iModeler.
I love the clapped out VW bus/pickup with the Vespa. Great work. Lots of good stuff here.
You European guys who like American hot rods would be happy over here in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Over the past 20 years, one sees more and more of the old "Little Deuce Coupes" from back in the day, now restored (generally by the looks of the driver, by the original owner) to their glory days. I see them around town maybe every other week or so and smile to myself when they zip past.
Thanks for your comment, Tom. There is a fondness here for old American cars, going way back, possibly even stronger than your own. The VW was really awsome and one of my favourites as well.
Man that's some really good looking eye candy on display. Not only nice to view but some exceptional work on display as well. Thanks for sharing.
Yep, you are absolutely right, Tom. The range of workmanship is as always quite broad but there is a generally high quality to the models. As I said before, some of the best modelers around are to be found at the show. The rusty VW was a favourite as the yellow muscle car next to it in the photo gallery. Just look at all the details!
Nice pics. Thanks for posting. BTW, Juha Airio, is an amazing car builder. He wins every time he is there. It's the norm with him.
