Getting Back Into This
My son gave me the Revell 1:48 B-17G as a Christmas present. I used to do this hobby as a kid. When I found this site, I kinda thought about taking the hobby up again. I've taken in some scale model shows and even bumped into an old friend that I had no idea also liked this hobby. I restarted from scratch. Cleared off my basement workbench, bought some paint, glue, paint brushes and even an Iwata airbrush. Watched a lot of online videos. I've learned a few things like, less glue is better, do a fit check, be patient and don't be afraid to experiment. So here is my first completed project...with more to follow.
Thanks to Dave K. for the inspiration.
Welcome back to the hobby. Looks like you never left. Nice job!
Nicely done David! Did the same thing about 9 years ago after a 40 plus year hiatus. That B-17 looks a lot better that some of my first builds. Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to iModeler.
Welcome back! Looks great!
David @adamcda13, welcome to iModeler and welcome back to the hobby. Certainly started off with a bang! Looks great!
Yep, it is like riding a bicycle. Good (re) start.
Great to have you back. Doesn’t look like the skills left you. As Tom said, just like riding a bike. Great build of a classic. Keep building.
Welcome back into the hobby and welcome to iModeler David! Revell B-17 is a big and perhaps ambitious model to restart after a long break away from glue & paint, but like Matt said, you certainly still have what it takes to get a good model made, good job there
Tempted by this over the new HK models one! Great to see someone having a go at it.
Great job! welcome!
That's a nice entry back into the hobby! Looking forward to more of your "experiments!"
Very nicely done. Make sure you don’t stop!
Great build and welcome to this site. Looking forward to seeing your build.
Yeah what they said. Modeling is good therapy and fun too. What away to get back into the hobby with a B-17 . Either go large and be in-charge or don't come at all and David it looks like your back in the saddle. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure in modeling.
Very nice. This is a great hobby to get reacquainted with !
Keep up the good work.
great return
Looks GREAT! Can't wait to see more models!
