1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18A VFC-12 Fighting Omars
Hello everyone,
This is my 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18A in “ambush” splinter scheme. Gunze Mr. Hobby paints and flat clear with MLT used. Gloss coat is with future. Lastly, decals are from Furball Aero-Design decals. Oh and lots of Tamiya tape too. Lol.
Holy mackinoly...that is freakin awesome
Great build Eric. And a fantastic scheme!
All the best!
Just Stunning - congratulations on a stand out build!
Hello Eric,
Master-Modeler.
Regards, Derek.
Great paint job in this one, how many rolls of Tamiya tape you used?
Michel,
I’m afraid I used half a roll of my new tamiya tape.
Beautifully job Eric @speedlimit4444, well done!
Thanks everyone. Glad you guys like it.
Amazing!
Excellent job on the splinter camo!
Beautiful, congrats
Thank you all.
Fookin' awesome paint job! What a fantastic result!
Thanks Tom!
That's an amazing build mate, really impressive!
I know what a splinter camo entails, a lot of hard work has went into this one, but the end result is fantastic and worth it!
Just had a look at your other posts, all amazing as well. I see you like your Hornets!
I've got the latest Eduard F-18 in the stash and it looks like a great kit.
Richard,
The moment I saw some pictures of adversary hornets I got hooked! I just have to model them. The Eduard super hornet should be an amazing model to build.
What’s the story behind the Russian markings on the jets?
The role of adversary jets are to mimic russian jets for simulated air combat. Hence the russian markings and paint scheme worn by russian jets.
I see... I'm really tempted to build my hornet in Russian camo now, I've got plenty spare Russian decals. But I also really liked the plain grey Tomcatters squadron markings I've got in the box.
Could always build two hornets I suppose.
Anyway mate, this is one of the best models I've seen posted on iModeler! Personal taste of course! But a memorable build for me. Outstanding modelling!
Richard thank you very much for the compliment. The build really was both enjoyable and a struggle at times. But overall I am really happy how it turned out. Good luck on your future build.
Great job sir! I like it a lot!
Thanks!
