GTK Boxer Dutch Army Command Vehicle (1/72)

April 6, 2022 · in Armor · · 5 · 1.8K

I've never really liked the boxer, nevertheless it was the first finished project i finished in 2021 when i returned to the hobby.
I don't know how this could happen 😉

The Boxer is a joint project of some European countries.
It is currently in use in Germany, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Great Britain and Australia.
The rear "container" is an interchangeable module that allows different uses.
The different variants are, for example: armored personnel carrier with different armament, infantry transporter, medical, commando, engineer and driving school vehicle.

The kit from (03283) is quite good, but there are a few points deducted.
In my case, I built this right out of the box.
Also Revell offers a few different versions of the vehicle.

The details were all sharp and there was very little flash.
The parts fit together without any problems.
On the negative side, however, I noticed some sink points and also a few few but visible ejection marks.

I designed the dio myself and also the other equipment such as the concrete barriers and the signs were built by myself.
A few smaller items from Hauler and MIG Productions were also used.

To liven up the scene a little more I used a crew from Caesar Miniatures (H102).

These Boxers replaced the YPR vehicles in the Netherlands which were operational when I was in militairy service.

Lovely looking boxer. I have seen a few of these built up but this diorama is very good.
