They still make model cars in the USA
Salvanos JR Models is a company that molds NASCAR kits mostly from the glory days. Designed in Texas and molded in California they are limited run, but very well made. This kit started out as a Richard Petty '73 Charger, but a couple of mis-steps with some decals for the big fluorescent side panels made me abandon that and make a generic early 70s NASCAR charger. The kit was very well engineered, but the instructions, were hit and miss and a few parts as is typical with a short run kit had some "interesting" attachment points. Overall though I would highly recommend this kit and would build another from this company without hesitation. Color is Tamiya TS-23 straight from the rattle can. In the "old school" tradition of car modeling only rattle cans and paint brushes were used painting the car. First time I ever did this, I think it turned out ok
Looks great, Rob, that blue really suits it.
