'32 Ford Hotrod
In my previous "How to" post some of you have asked me to show you the complete model, so now you can see my first model car where I tried the things I learned from similar "How to" posts and Youtube videos.
One of these techniques is to make a model carpet using baking powder and PVA glue, which you can see in detail in my previous post or briefly in the video below. For models where you just need some texture for a light-shadow effect on the floor and not just paint the flat plastic with a dry brush technique, I think this is perfect.
I usually paint figures, so the wiring of the engine was a new one for me. It's a very interesting subject, if you haven't built a model car before it's worth a try.
I also practiced using masking materials on the roof. I also made a video about this if you are not experienced in it, look for it, or write a comment here and I will make a post about it here.
I've done a lot of decals in small sizes, so the large size stickers (especially the white rim of the wheels, which I could have done with masking) were only partially challenging because of the unknown manufacturer (If you've used decals from several manufacturers, you already know this.) and the size (On a 28 mm figure, it is less obvious if a decal is not straight or symmetric than on a large model.).
A few details about the set:
Revell 1:25 scale
Level 5
'32 Ford 5 Windows Coupe 2in1 is the name of the kit, because you can make a classic coupe version with fenders instead of the hotrod.
Unboxing in the video below:
Well-done model and video. Great colors. Applaud willingness to try techniques new to you.
Who is the jazz pianist with the great chops who does the oh-so-cool improvisation on "Happy Birthday?"
Thank you so much. I hope my posts are useful and inspiring for some people.
This is in the free music library on YouTube: Happy Birthday Bouncy - E's Jammy Jams
Thanks...as an aging jazz addict, I appreciate the info.
@goforitpainting - Nice work Daniel! Very cool build, I like theme/color scheme and the engine wiring really looks great.
Thank you. Wiring and upgrading technical parts is a very exciting task.
Nice result on this hotrod, Daniel @goforitpainting
Very nice combination of colors indeed.
Thank you so much.
Your hot rod looks wonderful, Daniel!
What a striking scheme!
Thank you. Last year, several YouTube Model Builders celebrated the 90th anniversary of the '32 Ford. I thought this colour scheme made the model look a little more festive.
Very cool hotrod, indeed. I like how the paint scheme on the roof matches the seats!
